What is the minimum age for open water certification?10 years old. Individuals between 10 and 15 can earn their JR open water diver.

Does my certification expire?No, your certification is good for life. However, it is recommended that you take a refresher program if you have not dove for an extended period of time.

What is technical (tec) diving?Technical diving is a form of scuba diving that exceeds the typical recreational limits imposed on depth and immersion time (bottom time). Tec diving involves accelerated decompression and/or the use of variable gas mixtures during a dive. Rebreather diving is always technical.

What type of gas is in a scuba cylinder or tank?Normally, simple compressed air (filtered and dehumidified). They may also be filled with nitrox, trimix, or oxygen, depending on diving requirements.
